I am a co-coordinator for the KVN! There are 4 of us. There are 2 Moms and 2 wives. The Moms are dealing with the parents and grandparents. Christina and I are dealing with the wives. We planned out all of our meetings until the guys return. I am in charge of our Christams in October function. We will be putting together the care packages for the guys to ensure they get them by Christmas. I am open to suggestions by the way. I gotta get busy and start getting donations and maybe try to raise some money. Of course I can't do it in the name of the KVN b/c we are funded by the government. I would be doing it as a spouse who wants to send all of her husband's unit something special.
The Marines do Toys for Tots here too. We are taking over that for them. We are also going to continue with the Marine Corps Ball in November. Just not as fancy.
We were told a good way to count down how long it is, to count pay stubs. Well, pay days since we don't get stubs. There are 16 until they return. That doesn't sound nearly as bad as 7 1/2 months or 200+ days.
I applied for a loan in William's name for $2000. I can pay it off with the backpay. I want to go see him. They will have liberty the 6th-8th and that was the weekend I had planned anyway. They are encouraging families to come out. Wish they would get us discounts, LOL. A group rate would be sweet.
Well, cross your fingers for me. I am desperate to go see him one last time before he goes overseas.
